I adopted Bones in 2010. I had just graduated and promised myself I would get a dog after I had. I went to the Humane Society of Huron Valley daily waiting for the dog that was right for me… and after a week, I found him! Snot marks up and down the glass of his special kennel, it was his first day on the floor for the second time. An amazing physique similar to my own (he’s a bulldog)!

I called my then girlfriend (now wife) and said, “I found the perfect dog; I hope he’s not too gross for you.” We lived together, so the shoestring drool would be both our problem. My Bones the Bulldog.

Bones was adopted by us, his third family, and loved for 9 years by me, my wife, and our two daughters. Bones took life at a saunter– but was always quick to action when good food was on the stove-top!

Bones passed away a few weeks ago but was hands-down the best animal I have ever met in my life. A true soulmate. Thank you, HSHV, for introducing this magnificent beast into my life. His memory will live on in my knowing he was a loyal friend to my wife and our daughters. I hope to see you across the Rainbow Bridge one day, old friend.
