We rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community to continue our mission; we are not affiliated with, nor do we receive funding from, any other humane organization, local or national. Cage Sponsorship
It takes many things to create a world of warmth and comfort for an animal who suddenly finds him or herself in unfamiliar surroundings. Good food, a soft blanket, a squeaky toy, a special treat – these small things mean a great deal to the dog or cat whose new temporary home is our shelter. For a gift of $250 (six-month sponsorship) or $500 (one-year sponsorship), you can become a Cage Sponsor and be the source of comfort that every animal deserves. You can choose to sponsor a dog, puppy, cat or kitten and your sponsorship is recognized through a plaque on a specific cage. Click  for a printable form.

Friendship Garden
At the Humane Society of Huron Valley, we know the value of friendship. Thus, we have established a Friendship Garden – a quiet place to sit, reflect and commemorate special friends. For a gift of $150 or more, a gold-tone plaque is inscribed with a lasting personal message and affixed to the Friendship Garden wall. Memorials
The loss of a beloved animal or person is always difficult. A memorial gift to the Humane Society of Huron Valley is a fitting way to honor the passing of an animal companion or a special person who showed compassion to animals. Memorial gifts can be made in any amount and each gift is acknowledged in the next available issue of our newsletter Shelter Life. Also, an acknowledgement card can be sent to a family member. Honoraria
Do you know a true animal lover? What better gift could that special person receive than knowing homeless animals will be rescued and cared for in his or her honor? Honoraria donations make excellent gifts for holidays, birthdays, weddings or any other occasion to recognize that animal welfare is a cause close to your loved one’s heart. Guardian Circle - Planned Giving
The Humane Society of Huron Valley's Guardian Circle of donors is a group of individuals who have made donations that will help protect homeless and abused animals forever. To make a planned gift, you can name the Humane Society of Huron Valley in your estate when planning your will or trust, donate stocks, bonds or life insurance, or make an investment like a Charitable Gift Annuity. Please see your lawyer or financial advisor for the methods of giving that are most appropriate for you and contact us so that we can help you find the best way to help animals in need. Your gift, large or small, can result in considerable tax savings and save teh lives of homeless animals for years to come.

Special Events
The Humane Society of Huron Valley hosts several fundraising events throughout the year. Our biggest annual event, the Walk & Wag, takes place each May and you can participate as a walker, sponsor, or volunteer, or simply make a donation to support the event. We also host a stay-at-home Cat’s Pajamas event in February and a Compassionate Feast vegetarian dinner in the fall. Click here for a complete list of events with dates and details.

Goods and Services
Do you have items that might be of use to the Humane Society of Huron Valley? Do you own or manage a business that could lend goods or services so that our staff can focus on providing care to the shelter animals? In-kind gifts can range from dog leashes or cat litter to tree-trimming services, gift certificates or silent auction items. Take a look at our Wish List for a complete list of items we need most. In Lieu of Gifts ...
Are you the person on everyone’s list who has everything? You may wish to consider offering an “in lieu of gifts” option at your next birthday, holiday or celebration. Include in the invitation your desire to have guests donate to the Humane Society of Huron Valley in lieu of gifts. You won’t receive yet another unwanted tie or fruitcake, and what you will get is the knowledge that you have helped many homeless and unwanted animals find safe shelter and a loving home.

The Fairy Godmother Fund
The Fairy Godmother Fund enables HSHV to go the extra mile for animals that have suffered abuse or neglect and require medical treatment that is beyond the scope of regular adoption center procedures. HSHV budgets for these special cases that come into its clinic and shelter. Each year HSHV needs approximately $20,000 in order to provide life-saving medical care.
