We wanted to say thank you to whoever fostered our “Little Otes” as we affectionally call Otis (formerly Jack Bean). It was obvious from the get-go that he was great with people and other animals. He wormed his way into both of our older cats’ hearts and absolutely LOVES our collie (she loves him too but feels very outnumbered by her 3 cat brothers). I saw Yeti’s picture, and immediately thought he’d be perfect for our home. Little did I know he would be a menace the first few weeks, destroying everything and causing a mess! I almost reconsidered adopting him. However, weeks later he showed amazing improvement with love and training. Sometimes you have to give them time and compassion, which went a long way with Yeti. He now has a loving home, socializes with other dogs daily, plenty of exercise and jobs to do. We love him dearly and wouldn’t think twice about adopting him.

After losing my two senior male cats due to common old-age-kitty health issues a couple years prior, I knew it was time to let a new kitty into my life. Skyler and Parker are such kind kids!  They love animals and have only adopted rescue animals into their family.  Skyler and Parker donate to shelters every year and chose HSHV as the recipient of their donations this year!  They collected and donated a variety of items including crate mats, blankets, and cat toys!  Thank you so much, Skyler and Parker!  We greatly appreciate your kindness.

Evelyn is a very kind kid!  She loves animals and has two rescue dogs at home, which inspired her to also help the animals at HSHV!  Evelyn used her Christmas money from her grandma to purchase many wonderful items for the homeless dogs at HSHV.  She donated dog beds, food, treats, and toys!  Thank you so much, Evelyn!  We greatly appreciate your wonderful donation.

Though the details remain sketchy, we know that a four-year-old lost his life and surely experienced horrific pain and fear during his last moments. And a family is now grappling with the worst trauma and grief imaginable. All of whom now deserve an open and honest examination of the system that may have failed them and how we can better protect others. August and Oscar are very kind! I recently moved into my first apartment, and was in need of a friend for my 9-year-old cat, Winston. I went into HSHV not expecting to find anything, but then I met my sweet Aly girl! Aly and Winston were destined to be siblings. Aly was just a baby when I adopted her, so there is quite the age gap between them, but he loves her so much!
