For about 6 years, 2008-2014, I was a puppy foster for HSHV. On March 24, 2012, the foster manager called and asked if I would be willing to take a male puppy, 9 weeks old, who wasn’t doing good with his siblings at another foster’s home and we said we would. Last summer, after trying to convince my parents for six years that we should get a dog, we adopted August (we just call him Gus).
