Age: 3  Sex: Male  Breed: Pit Mix  Weight: 80 Pounds

Cactus here is looking for a new foster home!! His long term foster started a new job and is not home often enough for his needs.  We are hoping for Cactus to stay in foster until he is adopted, which could be at any time. (As always, we can find placement for him if you have vacations/trips planned!)

Cactus does best with routine and loves to be around his trusted people! He can be fearful of new people and introductions should be handled slowly. Once he is comfortable with you, Cactus is a sweet and smart dog who loves to cuddle. Cactus needs to be the only dog/pet, and no children under 12. He is 3-years-old, 80 Lbs., and low to medium energy. Cactus is food motivated but on a prescription diet due to his allergies.

Cactus is house and crate trained! He sleeps the whole night in his crate. He is also extremely smart and know several tricks. He also knows quite a few words like sit, paw, down, crate, stay, gentle, wait, turn (on walks they use the word “turn” to let him know we’re changing direction), walk, outside, bedtime, and his favorite: treats!! His foster is working on leave it, dinner, come here, and let’s go.

  • I need to be the only animal
  • I prefer kids over 12
