Adopt a Pet-of-the-Week!

These are some of our staff’s favorite animals. Shout out to our media partners for helping homeless pets find great homes! You can listen to us talk about these Pets of the Week on Thursdays around 7:30 a.m. on Ann Arbor’s 107one, 8:05 a.m. on WTKA, and around 10 a.m. on Saturday on 1290 AM WLBY.

The Ann Arbor's 107one Pet-of-the-week is Chia

The Ann Arbor’s 107one Pet-of-the-week is Chia

7-year-old Chia arrived in critical condition—dehydrated, dangerously thin, and suffering from multiple abdominal hernias. She needed a rare and expensive surgery to survive, and thanks to our very generous supporters, she got it.
Today, Chia is healing beautifully under our care—and purring every step of the way. Her journey has been long and complex, and only one thing’s still missing: a loving home. She might do best in a home without small children or other kitties. But she LOVES making friends with older humans. If Velcro Cat is your type, come meet this lady today and see if your lap is the one for her.
For more info on any of the animals at hshv.org/adopt, please contact our adoption specialists at (734) 662-5585 or adoptions@hshv.org
All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Nova

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Nova

Meet Nova! Here is a note from her foster mom: “Nova is the easiest dog ever! She is 100% crate trained and potty trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate all night long and is great about asking to go outside first thing in the morning, right before bed, and in the afternoon. We haven’t seen her with kids but she LOVES humans and is incredibly sweet and friendly with new people. She has a lot of energy, especially for a 9 year old and loves to be outside, but seems equally happy sitting on the couch watching TV with us. Overall she is smart, cuddly, and sweet. We’ve been able to leave her home alone outside of her crate for up to 6-7 hours without any issues. Anyone would be so so lucky to have her in their family.”

Nova is looking for a home without any cats, or other dogs. If this sounds like you, please call the adoptions team at 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!

The Lucy Ann Lance Show Pet-of-the-Week is Tonka

The Lucy Ann Lance Show Pet-of-the-Week is Tonka

Meet Tonka, a good dog looking for his forever home! Tonka is a pooch with a bit more energy, and should meet any potential doggy siblings before going home to make sure they can handle his excited play style. Here are some comments from his adoring foster parents: “Tonka instantly opened up once we drove away, and he’s super duper sweet and gentle with his toys, his mouth, and with humans even when he’s excited! He gets along with kids and dogs so far (but we’re working on leash training because he wants to make so many friends that he pulls a lot). Potty trained (so far) and doesn’t chew on things. Not very treat motivated surprisingly but loves peanut butter and praise.”

Tonka is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
