As more and more people are finding, new and increasingly inexpensive technologies like Wi-Fi doorbells and digital trail cameras can be very useful tools trapping cats and managing colonies.

Plain Jane- anything but plain!
I adopted Jane in August of 2019. She was a Love Train puppy and I was volunteering the night she arrived. Her name was Jane when she got off the van but it was changed to Savannah, but I felt like plain Jane fit better. She has had a great 2 years with my family and our other animals. We just finished beginners training and she’s really excelling, she loves to learn and she’s very smart. Even though she’s really active and can be over the top, it’s a part of her personality. Howling and running around are her 2

Lemonade Love
Emma, Sophie, Reese, Adela, and Elsie are very kind kids! Over the summer, they hosted a lemonade and bracelet stand. The friends decided to donate the funds they raised to HSHV because they enjoyed attending our summer camp programs and their families have adopted their pets from us. Thank you so much for your generous donation, Emma, Sophie, Reese, Adela, and Elsie! We are so grateful for your kindness, and we know the animals are too!

Chachi finds love in his new home
As I walked into the petting room to sit down with “Baxter,” the image of his tiny 10lb. body cowering in the corner of a large kennel would forever etch itself into my memory. As he was brought in I grabbed some toys, but he was NOT interested – instead immediately hopping onto my lap and cuddling up. This first interaction summarizes Baxter’s – now Chachi’s – new home and the cuddles we constantly share. He has grown into a confident young pup who is taking on the world. We’ve dealt with mild “aggression” issues, but he was just scared

Daisy finds her Furever Family
My husband and I adopted Daisy a little over a year ago and it was our best decision yet! She started out as a skinny, shy, anxious dog but quickly came out of her shell. Her personality blossomed! I’ve never known a more loving, expressive dog than our Daisy. She’s a mommy’s girl and her favorite things in the world are chicken nuggets and zoomies in the backyard. Mocha now Daisy

Olive and Pearl have love in their sights!
Olive and Pearl, formerly Angel and Dove, caught our attention when we decided we wanted to expand our family. We already had two wonderful HSHV cats, Jinxie (formerly Candy Apple) and Hazel (formerly Yoko). We figured the cats would coexist with each other, since neither of us was familiar with bonded cats. To our surprise, Hazel, Olive, and Pearl are all best of friends! And Jinxie tolerates everyone 🙂 Despite their (lack of) eye, Olive and Pearl play and jump and act just like any other kitten would. They’ve become a wonderful addition to our family! This picture features Olive

Homer’s furever home
We adopted 15 year old Homer on October 20, 2021. As soon as I saw him online I knew that he needed us, as much as I needed him. It has only been a short time but Homer is settling in his forever home well. Homer came to us skinny, scared and unsure of his surroundings. Despite having some health issues and being deaf, he loves going on short walks, greeting his humans, going on car rides and loves cuddling and taking naps. After a rough 15 years Homer is now happy and very loved.
