Sassy lovable Star Wars furbaby

I saw Chewee on the website while out of town. As soon as I got home I called HSHV to make sure he was available. The next day he was going to be there for a meet and greet from 1-4, so I showed up 30 min early. When he got there it was love at first sight for me. I went up to him and he immediately came to me and smothered me with kisses. I knew right then and there he was going home with me ♥️♥️♥️♥️ He’s so sweet, loving, gentle, sassy and well-behaved. He loves his

Mazey has been an absolute gem!

I came to your shelter 8 years ago looking for a pup. There were some puppies who were found along I-75, and I sat on the floor and this one in particular made a home on my lap. At that moment I knew there was no possible way I was leaving the shelter without her. She has been by my side ever since. She has been to nursing homes with me, has such a mild-mannered personality, and is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. Thank you for treating these animals so well. Coral now Mazey

Interview with Feral Kitty Trappers President – Karen Frazer

Who and what is Feral Kitty Trappers TNR? FKT started with a focus on TNR and the overpopulation of cats and evolved into TNR + rescue and adoptions. FKT is 100% volunteer based and spent over $100,000 this past year on veterinary services for cats. What got you started in TNR? A momma cat had kittens under my deck on my first day of retirement, I was able to get them sterilized through help at HSHV and Pawsibilities back in 2008. On my first day trapping I was able to trap 6 cats in under 15minures through helpful advice. How

Maggie: Expert human trapper, biscuit-maker, and toy mouse hunter

I’ve always loved cats, but it took a few years after my beloved cat Chester passed away until I felt like I was ready to adopt again. I made many visits to HSHV looking for just the right cat. The staff and volunteers were very patient with me as I searched for a cat that I clicked with in a way I couldn’t quite explain. When I first saw Maggie she was in one of the large rooms up front. She locked eyes with me and then rolled over and showed me her fuzzy belly and I was instantly smitten.

Thought I was saving him, but he saved me

I got out of the Army in 2011. Realized quickly that I wasn’t adapting well. Went years alone and one day it hit me that I really needed a companion, and I wanted to rescue. I went to the shelter for the first time and walked several other pups, and then was told about this very shy boy. We walked and he was definitely shy, but for some reason I just felt connected. Went back twice to introduce him to my parents since I had to wait for him to be neutered. Third time I went and he was outside

Angel’s Forever Home

We had recently lost our Chocolate Laborador, Jack. When Jack left us, we had decided to adopt again and this time we wanted to adopt an older dog who would have a hard time finding a home. We’d been looking for about a week when we came upon Angel, aka, Arconia. We were sure she was the one to come home with us. We have two other pitties, Opie and Molly. The meet and greet went really well, and Angel came home with us! The first couple days, Angel adjusted and soon realized we were there to love her and
