Ann Arbor, MI (July 28, 2023) – A 10-month-old puppy was found abandoned in a blanket-covered crate in Ypsilanti’s Recreation Park Tuesday. The Humane Society of Huron Valley is conducting an investigation, actively seeking tips from anyone who might have information. Two good Samaritans saw the crate on the side of the road, near a wooded trail, covered in a blue and tan quilt (see picture). Ann Arbor, MI (July 27, 2023) – The Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) is seeking help from the community on an animal cruelty incident that happened Monday. A puppy was running loose in the Carrot Way Apartments parking lot (1731 Dhu Varren Rd, Ann Arbor). Witnesses reported seeing a man cruelly kicking the puppy before abandoning him, then fleeing the scene. The tan and white male puppy, approximately 5 months old, is now in the care of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, receiving medical attention, nourishment, and behavioral support. As a long time cat-lover, I couldn’t wait to adopt a kitten. When I came to HSHV, I immediately fell in love with Veronica (now Anchovy). On April 3rd,2022 my family and I went to HSHV to look for a puppy to adopt. We found our sweet Daisy when she was just a few months old. Daisy is now over 1 year old and is very healthy. Daisy loves to bird watch, she loves playing with her toys, pup cups, doggy massages, and even at night time Daisy has to have a warm blanket from the dryer. When we saw Jarrito on the website, we knew we needed her. I have always wanted a calico, and this long-haired calico was beautiful. She loves going for walks (or at least, being carried outside), getting treats and being pet. Jarrito is our newest family member and we couldn’t be happier to have her.
