Cedar is a loving, highly-trainable guy who is eager to please!

Cedar is the most loving dog you will ever meet. He is attentive and sensitive to your needs and will match any vibe you give him, whether that is lounging on the couch or going on adventures! He is great with other dogs and loves a game of chase or wrestling, but he is young and may need breaks. He grew up with cats and is very affectionate, and has great recall if his kitty friends need a break from playing!

Cedar is extremely food-motivated and obedient—especially when liver treats, sweet potatoes, and string cheese are present—and he knows many commands such as Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Wait, Shake, Back Up, Place (go to his bed), Drop, Leave it, Let’s Go, No, Look (eye contact), and Quiet. Cedar is a pro at walking on a slip-leash and enjoys long walks, especially in downtowns and parks. He loves playing with enrichment puzzles and filled kongs, too! Cedar is also very good at settling down, as he is used to living in an apartment and crated for 5-6 hours most days. Lastly, Cedar loves sunbathing and chewing bones while his humans hang out!

Cedar sometimes gets nervous around people when he is given too much freedom (like not being on a short leash or in a “heel”). This has led to one bite incident with minimal blood drawn, so his new family should be ready to manage his anxiety and continue working with him. Cedar is friendly and calm once he’s been properly introduced, and after meeting someone once, he’s super affectionate! He does well in crowded spaces, such as farmers’ markets, but is not comfortable with being interacted with.

Please send me a message if you want Cedar to be your family’s new addition!
