Growing up, my family adopted all of our pets from HSHV. My Fiancé and I just bought a house with a little one on the way. We lost our pregnancy and were heartbroken, as well as in a home with no one but ourselves. We decided to go look at the Love Train puppies. We waited hours for our turn, but it was so worth it! We had our eye on a few and asked to visit a little German Shepard/Husky puppy that was sitting all alone in the back of her crate. Upon visiting with her, it quickly became apparent that she would require a lot of care and time. She was very high energy, jumping all over the place and doing zoomies. We heard a family behind us ask to see her next and we looked at each other and said at the same time, “We’ll take her!”

Phoebe has been the best dog we could ask for. It wasn’t an easy road to get here…chewed holes in the carpet, internet cords dug up, trouble walking on a leash. Through it all she knew we were committed to her and we worked on it. Phoebe is now almost 2 years old and would spend all day running around her back yard if she could. She recently found a new purpose in April when her little brother came home! She immediately went into big sister mode and is always making sure he’s okay. We are so grateful to HSHV for everything they do for these animals!
